Mexican Fernando Donis Wins the Dubai Architect Award:
Fernando Donis from La Paz, México was awarded the ThyssenKrupp Elevator Architecture prize this month for his 150-metre by 150-metre rectangular frame with a cafe and viewing terrace entitled “Dubai Frame”.

Mexican children are given both their father’s last name and their mother’s maiden name. This tradition helps preserve the heritage of both parents.
First comes the father´s name and then the mother´s name.

Los Pinos (Mexican White House)
Se llama “Los Pinos” porque el ex-presidente Lázaro Cárdenas conoció a su esposa en una Hacienda que se llamaba “Los Pinos”.

Biquini o Bikini
Traje de baño inventado por una compañía francesa en 1946.
Nombrado así por la isla  Bikini  en Hawai,  donde Estados Unidos llevaba a cabo pruebas
nucleares causando revuelo pues desalojó a sus pobladores. 
Seleccionaron el nombre por ser una palabra que estaba de moda ese año y porque
creían que la prenda tendría un impacto explosivo.
